Mandan city commissioners are delaying actions on a noise agreement. This agreement was brought in to take against local bar owners for disturbing noise levels during business.
An agreement was drafted to settle complaints over noise from business and nearby residents which disturbed people. The people found guilty would be fined fine up to $500. But the Mandan city commission has not yet taken any action on this agreement.
As per the agreement the noise levels from indoor entertainment events could not exceed 50 decibels and the business could hold only 6 outdoor events in a year.
However the city commission feels that certain points in the agreement need to be tested in practicality and only then the agreement can be passed. Commissioner Thomas Jackson said that the limit of decibels should be higher than the proposed 50 decibels.
